Kris Jackson Returns To Midway With Modified Feature Win As Petty Family Big Winners
Lebanon's Kris Jackson returned to the Midway Speedway Saturday Night and showed he hasn't forgot the fast way around the Lebanon Dirt-track oval. Ballinger who started on the
front row was a rocket ship in the early stages as Jackson who started tonight back in row 5 was wasting no time in heading to the front. Jackson was able to close ground as
caution waved on lap 7 when newcomer Terry Kick spun around along with Brian Myers, Michael Jones and Tony Moore. On the restart, Ballinger was still holding strong, but fell
to problems 2 laps later and pulled into the pits. From there the Lebanon charger recorded his 2nd points win of the season and third this year at Miday. Following Jackson to
the finish was DeWayne Hobbs, Michael Jones, Tony Fincher and Tony Moore.
Factory Stock point leader Tim Petty played a patient racing scheme tonight as he grabbed the lead over onts runer-up Bob Gustin on lap 11 to capture his third win of the
season. Brandon Waters grabbed the opening lead from his front row pole spot over Dylan Keepper as Gustin wasted no time in moving to the front. Gustin and Waters kept things
close early but then Dylan Keepper moved around Waters to take over second place. This battle lasted 3 laps when Petty shot to the runner-up position and closed on leader
Gustin. On lap 11, Petty grabbed the lead as Gustin came back strong. Petty was able to place some distance in the closing laps to secure his win while the race for third
place was a see-saw affair. Dylan Keeper was able to bring the car home third as defending champion Tyson Troutman got around Waters to grab 4th place as Waters fell to
5th.
Current Midwest Modified point leader Sam Petty has had a banner season racking up several wins, but alomst let the feature get away Saturday Night. Travis Hill took the
opening lead on lap 1, but Petty came roaring to the front the following lap. Petty had opened a huge lead over Hill, but on the last lap spun around doing a complete 360
allowing Hill to close quickly. Petty got back on the throttle and took yet another feature win tonight as Hill continues his strong showings with another runner-up spot.
Rookie Bily Pearce, Jamie Petty and Keith Cheever rounded out the top 5.
The Pure Stocks also featured a first time winner as rookie Caleb Starnes turned around his mis fortune of last weeks disqualification. The Lebanon rookie grabbed the lead at
the halfway mark of the feature and held off defending champion matt young to take his first ever big car division win. With point leader Rob White on vacation the Pures were
letting it all hang out tonight. Tyler Schoen and his ride along monkey waved their way to lead the opening 6 laps as Starnes the former go-kart racer stayed close. On lap
7, the youngster shot to the lead as Matt Young was making ground up. Schoen tried several times to get back around Starnes, but tonight Caleb was to strong as young made a
last lap pass on Schoen. Follwing Starnes to victory was Young, Schoen, Jim Alexstates and Stacye Francis.
The Street Stock feature event had former front runner Dusty Rhoades of Lebanon in the number 1 car tonight as Joe Francis was back in his 32. Rhoades shot to the opening
lead with Matt Darnell following. On lap 2, Lebanon's Brandon Henderson moved into second place as last weeks winner Mark Simon was picking his way forward in the Station
Wagon. Henderson took the lead on lap 4 from Rhoades, but 1 lap later the Buffalo veteran made his move to secure the win as Henderson secured a runner-up spot with Rhoades,
Karla Lampe and Darnell in the top 5.
Racing action continues next Saturday night with racing at 7:30.
