-Officials at the Lebanon Midway Speedway will have a
busy weekend on May 30th & 31st with a special Saturday night race
highlighting the Factory Stocks, B-Modifieds and Bomber classes.
On Saturday night, May 31st, the Factory Stocks and
B-Modifieds will compete in a $450 to win, $75 to start feature event
while the Bombers will battle for $300 to win and $60 to start the
feature.
These will be non-point races with 22 cars to start the
main events. Entry fees will be $20 per car and pit passes are $25 per
person while grandstand admission is only $5 for ages 11 and up while kids
10 and under are free. Qualifying heats will start at 7:30pm while the
gates open at 5:00pm. Hot laps will start at 6:30pm.
The final 2 spots will be for the highest cars in the
current Midway point standings not in the feature yet and this will
include after Friday nights' regular races. Midway rules apply.
-Action at the Midway Speedway
will have a little extra excitement this Friday night as the speedway brings
the holiday weekend with a BANG-Literally!
World record holder Dave "The Cannonball" Smith will be shot out of a cannon
during intermission during the racing card Friday night. Smith is 61 years
of age and holds the record at 185 feet, 10 inches. Current plans are
placing the cannon in turns 1 and 2 and being shot towards 3 and 4. The
racing card will also feature track point races with the USRA Modifieds,
Factory Stocks, Super Stocks, B-Modifieds, Bombers and 305 Winged Sprints.
Legends were scheduled to compete but it will be re-scheduled for a later
date.
Admission Friday night will be $10 for Adults with kids 11-15 $5 and 10 and
under free. Pit passes are $25.
Gates will open at 5:00pm with
racing to start at 8:00pm sharp.
-This Friday is Military
Appreciation Night at Midway Speedway. All Military gets into the grandstands
free with a valid I.D. Also, as a special added attraction, David Smith, World
Record Holder Human Cannonball will perform his huge stunt...leaping over 20
cars hopefully landing in his net. If you have never seen this in person DON'T
MISS IT.
Racing action for the May 16th events at the Midway
Speedway will be Copeland Corporation Night! along with Double
Points night for all classes (except USRA Modifieds unless approval bu USRA).
Originally it was also listed as Lebanon High School Band Night but due to
conflicting dates, the band has cancelled for Friday night's action.
Gates will open at 5:00PM with hot laps at 6:50pm and
racing at 8:00PM sharp.
The classes that will be competing this Friday will be the
USRA Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Super Stocks, B-Modifieds, 305 Sprints and
Bombers.

The Midwest Regional
Series of the Fastrak Late Model Series will invade the Midway Speedway Friday
night, May 9th along with a full regular points show for USRA Modifieds, Factory
Stocks, B-Modifieds, Bombers and the popular Super Stocks.
Gates will open at 5:00pm with hot laps set for 6:50pm and racing at 8:00pm
sharp.
Admission this week will be $12 for adults in the grandstands with kids' prices
remaining a low cost of $5 for kids 11-15 while children 10 and under are free.
Pit passes this week will be $30.
Current point leaders at the Midway include Jamie Ragland in the USRA Modifieds
by 1 point over Bobbye Williams with Jimmy Willis, James Hartman and Steve
Muilenburg rounding out the top 5.
Ben Newell heads the Super Stock class with a 7 point lead over J.C. Newell
while Dwight Niehoff, Larry Prewett and Travis Hill completing the top 5.
Ben Solberg holds a slim 7 point lead over Sundance Keepper with Dusty Rhoads,
Isaac Keepper and Tim Petty rounding out the top 5.
Last week's winner Colt Cheevers hangs on to a 1 point margin over defending
champion Jason Otto with Mickey Burrell, opening night winner Ed Wilson and Ken
Dickinson in the top 5.
Last week's winner Brandon Knudtson holds a 7 point margin over opening night
winner Shawn Strong with Brandon Waters, Sundance Keepper and Jack Hamer
completing the top 5.
Billy James currently leads the Midwest Regional Fastrak Late Models with the
winner of Friday night's event winning $1,200 and $200 to start.

While all eyes focus on Indy and Lowe's at the end of
the Month of May, excitement will be provided in different forms at the
Midway Speedway on Friday nights. May 2nd: A 50 lap tune up Enduro is
scheduled paying $200 to the winner while it looks as if possibly the
runner up will receive $100 along with the regular points show of USRA
Modifieds, Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, B-Modifieds, Bombers and 305
Winged Sprints. May 9th: The Fastrak Midwest Regional Series Late Model
Series will come to town along with points racing for USRA Modifieds, B-Modifieds,
Super Stocks, Factory Stocks and Bombers. The Fastrak series will be
making their return after a season away from the Midway and should feature
some close action with local talent.
May 16th: The Lebanon High School Band will be playing
at the Midway along with racing action featuring double points night.
May 23rd: A Special attraction will have David Smith
who holds the world record for being shot out of a cannon along with
racing action in all classes and the Missouri Dirt Legend Cars will make
their 1st appearance of the season.
May 30th: To end the month in grand style the popular
Show-Me Racin' Series Late Models make their 1st appearance of the season
at the Midway. Defending champion Leslie Essary, Ken Essary, Jeremy
Kelley, Kevin Henson, Jim Fulp and all the fan favorites will invade the
Midway along with points racing in all classes.

After 3 straight weeks of bad luck with the weather, the
Midway Speedway will try to get its second points event of the season
underway Friday night as it will be Hardee's Night at the races. There will
be give-a-ways from Hardee's for the fans along with other sponsors as
action will get underway with racing at 8:00pm sharp. Point battles in the
USRA Modifieds, Super Stocks Sportsman, Factory Stocks, B-Modifieds, Bombers
and 305 Winged Sprints as the Missouri Dirt Legend Cars will also be
competing. After 1 week of racing, current point leaders include Lebanon's
Jamie Ragland (USRA Modifieds), Ben Newell of Stoutland (Super Stocks),
Lynchburg's Clint Todd (305 Winged Sprints), Republic's Shawn Strong
(Bombers), Springfield's Ben Solberg (Factory Stocks) while Waynesville's Ed
Wilson and Richland's Jason Otto are tied for the B-Modified lead.
