On occasion, circumstances will be presented that are either unforeseen or are otherwise extordinary, in which strict application of the rules may not achieve this goal. In such rare circumstances, officials, as a practical matter, may make a determination regarding the conduct of the race, the eligibility of a competitor, or similar matters that is not contemplated by or is inconsistent with the rules, in order to achieve this goal.

*BODY- AMERICAN COMPACT PASSENGER ONLY. MUSTANG II, TEMPO, CAVALIER, DAYTONA, GREMLIN, AMC, ETC. MUST USE STEEL OR FIBERGLASS FULL SIZE ROOF AND SHOULD BE STOCK APPEARING. STOCK APPEARING FRONT WINDSHIELD MD REAR SUPPORT UNIT (PAINTED ROLL BARS WILL N0T BE AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE). FIRE WALL AND FLOOR BOARDS ARE MANDATORY. NUMBERS SHOULD BE LARGE AND LEGIBLE ON BOTH DOORS IN CONTRASTING COLORS. 4 WIDE AND 20 TALL, ROOF NUMBERS 30 TALL, AND 4 NUMBER IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF WINDSHIELD OPENING. MAXIMUM OF 1 DROP FROM THE FRONT T0 THE REAR OF THE ROOF LINE. NO WINGS, SPOILERS, OR ANY OTHER GROUND EFFECTS ARE ALLOWED. ENGINE COMPARTMENT WILL REMAIN OPEN, NO SIDE PANELS. HOOD SIDES MAY HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 4 DROP AND MUST BE ENCLOSED AT REAR END OF HOOD. BODIES SHOULD EXTEND NO FURTHER FORWARD THAN BACK OF THE BLOCK (PASSENGER SIDE MUST BE NO FURTHER FORWARD THAN REAR BLOCK). REAR OF BODIES TO BE SOLID PANELS LEAST 8 HIGH AND BE TIED DOWN, WITH CAR NUMBER. NO MIRRORS OR REFLECTING DEVICE 0F ANY KIND. DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOW MUST HAVE AT LEAST 12 VERTICAL OPENING.
