Sunny Skies finally smiled for some racing action at the Midway Speedway with over 90 cars checking in the pits and excellent racing action with several new first-time winners.

 USRA A-MODIFIEDS

Action in the USRA Modified feature saw 19 drivers take the green with defending Midway champion Eric Hudson grabbing the opening lead from his pole position with Chad Staus, Bobbye Williams and Wayne Graybeal following. Hudson would set the pace as tight racing behind the leader as Jimmy Willis and Jesse Stovall joining the battles. On lap 4, Hudson slowed quickly with rear end problems as Williams, Status and Stovall went 3-wide with Stovall jumping to the outside groove coming down the front stretch and grabbing the lead. Stovall checked away from the field leaving a great battle for second as Bobbye Williams held a solid run while the race for third was tight between Willis, Tony Jackson, Jr., Staus, Jamie Ragland and others. Coming for the checkered, Stovall made it look easy grabbing his first win of the season at the Midway followed by Williams, Jackson, Jr., Ragland and Status at the stripe.

 FACTORY STOCKS
The Factory Stocks feature provided close racing as newcomer Chad Palmer grabbed the lead from his outside front row spot with Dusty Rhoads quickly moving into the second spot. Palmer and Rhoads swapped the top spot until lap 6 when Rhoads grabbed the lead while 10th place starting Isaac Keepper had worked his way to the front putting pressure on the leader Rhoads. This battle allowed Sundance Keepper, point leader Ben Solberg and Doug Rich to close in on the leader. Coming for lap 13, Isaac Keepper shot to the inside of Rhoads and held off a last-lap surge to grab his first ever factory feature win with Rhoads, Solberg, S. Keepper and Rich following.

 B-MODIFIEDS

The B-Modifieds showed close racing action as Mickey Burrell brought the field to the green with Colt Cheevers and Steve Muilenburg following with Cheevers grabbing the lead early. With Cheevers in front, Steve Muilenburg moved into second and applied heavy pressure to the leader as Cheevers held off the strong charges. During the top spot battle, Mickey Burrell, defending champion Jason Otto and Tyler Brown closed up on the lead duo making it a tight 5 car battle. In the closing laps, Muilenburg made several passes to grab the lead but Cheevers held on to record his first Midway win of 2008 with Muilenburg, Burrell, Otto and T. Brown in the top 5.

 SUPER STOCKS
The Super Stocks feature provided excellent racing throughout the pack as Bill Joiner grabbed the opening lead with Dan Newell following close behind. Bill Joiner was running a perfect high line while Larry Prewett and J.C. Newell were battling hard for second place. A mid-race caution for rookie driver Donny Betts stacked the field up with Joiner still setting the pace. On the restart, Joiner would see a fast-moving Ben Newell coming from his 11th starting spot along with Prewett, J.C. Newell and Dwight Neihoff battling. Ben Newell would use his experience to move around Joiner on lap 10 and record his second straight victory with Prewett, J.C. Newell, Neihoff and Joiner following.

 BOMBERS

The Bombers again provided plenty of close racing action as the field of 17 came to the green with Bobby Mooney grabbing the early lead followed closely by Jack Hamer, Brandon Waters and Sundance Keepper. Mooney would set a quick pace until lap 6 when he went sideways in turn 3 but kept it going giving the lead to Brandon Waters with Keepper, Brandon Knutdson, Shawn Winfrey and John Darnell coming quickly. The front pack of 5 included a 6th member as point leader Shawn Strong, who started 11th, was charging hard as Jack Hamer, who fell back earlier, was moving forward again. A late caution on lap 13 bunched the field up as Waters was looking for his first ever Bomber win brought the field to the green as Knutdson moved to the top groove and pulled even with Waters. Coming for the white flag, Knutdson grabbed the lead and held off a last-lap effort to grab his first ever Bomber Midway win with Waters, Keepper, Winfrey and Darnell following closely behind.
